Sunday July 18th
Gwyn & Will    £8
A new jazz star is rising. Gwyneth has been compared to Diana Krall and Norah Jones and has just been signed by Universal Records. She has regularly been featured at the Pizza Express Jazz Club and has already sung as the support for Jamie Cullum on several of his gigs. Gwyneth has also performed a duet with Jamie Cullum on one track of her first CD called 'First Songs' on Dean Street Records. This CD was produced by Ian Shaw with a guest appearance by Guy Barker. Another track from that album 'Beguiling Eyes' was heavily featured on Jazz FM. At the Club Gwyneth will be supported by her current band.
Gwyneth Herbert (vocals), Will Rutter (guitar), Henry Collins (trumpet), Mark Hodgson (bass) and Matt Home (drums).

Sunday September 19th
Gilad Atzmon Quartet   £8
Exciting 'fireworks' can be expected from this dynamic saxophone and clarinet player. Now a long time resident in the UK, this Israeli born musician brings his personal interpretations to well loved standards and his own challenging compositions. His intense passion for what he plays is melded with a remarkable level of technical skill on all his instruments to produce outstanding results. Gilad has been nominated for various awards including best recording for his CD 'Exile'.
Gilad Atzmon (saxophones and clarinet), Frank Harrison (keyboards), Yaron Stavi (bass) and Asaf Sirkis (drums).

Sunday October 10th
Bobby Wellins Quartet   £8
Bobby is one of the finest Scottish exports with a legacy of important jazz recordings with both Stan Tracey and under his own name. His records with Don Weller in the 1970's were amongst the best hard bop ever recorded in the UK. Bobby is a distinctive player, with a sound of his own which reflects his devotion to the music. His recent recordings show Bobby playing as well as ever and are contemporary classics with reworkings of the famous Billie Holiday 'Lady in Satin' album and a Sinatra tribute album with Stan Tracey.
Bobby Wellins (tenor saxophone), Liam Noble (keyboards), Simon Thorpe (bass) and Dave Wickens (drums).

Sunday November 21st
Geoff Eales Trio   £5
Geoff has been playing piano for some 20 years with the best in the entertainment business. He has worked with Shirley Bassey, Henry Mancini and Michael Ball as well as classical singers Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Lesley Garrett and Jose Carreras. Geoff is now choosing to play jazz and further his career in that direction. He has become very popular with the jazz audience who love modern jazz piano. His latest CD, 'Facing the Muse' is a tribute to his jazz inspirations and features reworkings of his favourite compositions. This is piano trio playing at its best.
Geoff Eales (keyboards), Roy Babbington (bass) and Mark Fletcher (drums).

Sunday December 19th
Eriko Ishihara Quartet   £8
Second visit to the Club by this charming jazz pianist and vocalist. We have had lots of requests for a return visit by her band and what could be better for our end of year Christmas gig. Eriko impressed us with her first CD 'I wish I knew' with her personal interpretations of classic songs and contemporary tunes. Recent appearances have been at The National Theatre and Pizza on the Park. It should be an enchanting evening of first class jazz.
Eriko Ishihara (keyboards and vocals), Colin Oxley (guitar), Andy Hamil (bass) and Steve Brown (drums).
