This photo of the
Prince William was taken by Nigel Brereton
as the ship approached Newcastle on 24th July 2001.
The voyage had started in Aberdeen on the 15th July and a visit had been made to Delfzil
The photograph was taken from one of the ship's RIBs (rigid inflatable boats).
The Prince William's starboard RIB derrick can be seen to have been swung out,
ready to recover the RIB.
The names of the five square sails set on the foremast are (from top to bottom):
Royal, Topgallant, Upper Topsail, Lower Topsail, and Course.
